Advice needed

Trying to firm up arrangements for Vegas. I have pre-pre-registered for the WSOP. AS soon as I get the money from Noble into Neteller and then into my bank, I can pre-register. I have been granted protection by the Court and have received word the oppossing party will agree to a continuance for the one thing I already had scheduled. Wifey is agreeable to the change of plans from Seattle (a trip that has been in the works for over a year)to Vegas. Some of the poker patrol are asking if they can invest in my trip and one of them is going to be in Vegas the day of the WSOP.

The problems:
1. Trying to change the Seattle tix to Vegas tix.
2. Where does one stay in Vegas with two infants? I was thinking out of town a bit to allow for more freedom of movement for Mom and the kids while I am debaucherizing. I assume all the hotels have shuttles. It would also save a buttload of money.
3. Is anyone else traveling with children or are we the only foolish ones? Is there any kind of babysitting service that anyone would trust? I do not like the kids to be anywhere without one of us. They are 2 yo and 9 months. We have thought about bringing along a niece but the cost may be prohibitive plus we are going to extend the trip another week.
4. Trying to exact vengeance on the pregnant blackjack dealer who took all my money last time. Maybe my kid can beat up her kid.

We are contemplating a drive from Vegas to San Francisco via Death Valley, the big trees, Yosemite, then down the PCH towards LA, and then back over to Vegas for the flight home. There is a buddy in Berkely I haven't seen for a few years, a cousin in LA who works for Access Hollywood, and geography galore. The drive sometimes beats the destination.

Any suggestions for making this trip more feasible and enjoyable are welcome.

Some realities about Vegas.

1. All of the large hotels will either have babysitting services or a list of approved babysitters. Call ahead to confirm, but I'm sure of this.

2. Few of the hotels in Las Vegas have shuttles. That would offend the taxicab union (this is not a joke). Some of the chains that cater (primarily) to locals do have shuttles that link their various properties. The Coast casinos (Barbary Coast [strip], Gold Coast [across from the Rio], Orleans, and Sun Coast) are linked. I believe each of the Boyd properties have a shuttle to the Stardust. The Station casinos may also have a shuttle service linking them. That's about it for shuttles.

3. The drive you are thinking about would be beautiful. Fair warning, the desert has turned to quite hot--make sure you take extra water with you if you do make the drive.

Given everything, you may want to consider one of the locals' hotels. Green Valley Ranch (in Henderson) is spectacular. The other Coast, Boyd and Station properties range in price and value. I'm not an expert on what you'll need for your kids so I'll leave that advice to others.

Two summers ago, I made a drive from San Antonio to Palm Springs in a 22 hour run. I pulled into Phoenix at 7:30 a.m. to eat at the awful waffle and could not believe how hot it was that early. In Palm Springs, they gave a discount on golf if you agreed to start playing after 8:00 a.m. as few people want to play in that much heat.

Here at home, the oppressive heat doesn't set in until the mid-afternoon. Our humididty is so high, it feels as though the sky is trying to lie down on top of you. But hell, I'm used to that. That part of the country is HOT.

They say it's not the heat, it's the humidity. B.S. It's the heat.

I'm no expert, but one place you may want to consult for answers is the Las Vegas Talk forum, I think it's http://www.lasvegastalk.com.

If you're going to be there for any length of time, it seems like Vegas is about the cheapest place on the planet to rent a car.
